A NICHOLAS BRANSON NOVEL, BOOK ONE

Most of us are familiar with Jesus’ parents, Mary and Joseph, and Jesus’ purported spouse, Mary Magdalene. But what about Jesus’ siblings? What role did they play in early Christianity?

Contemporary Jesuit and renowned religious historian Nicholas Branson is about to find out...and the answer will shake the foundations of the Judeo-Christian world.

It all starts with the murder of a United States Senator in a confessional, and the discovery of a strange religious document among his possessions. At the urging of his FBI friend, Branson joins the investigation. His effort to uncover the truth behind the murder draws him into the search for an eight-hundred-year-old treasure and into a web of ecclesiastical and political intrigue.

Accompanied by a beautiful, sharp-tongued research librarian, Jessica Jones, Branson follows a trail of clues, from the peaks of the awe inspiring French Pyrenees to the caves of war-torn Afghanistan. Along the way, shadowy powerful forces trail the pair, determined to keep safe a secret buried for centuries.

The Brothers' Keepers A Nicholas Branson Novel eBook Matthew Peters

“We are now what we’ve always been—the wielders of God’s power on earth, the keepers of the brothers, the guardians of their secrets.”
How that sentence is understood, and how it plays out in reality, is the crux of this book—from the private rooms of the White House to the gilded halls of the Vatican. To say that the tale is compelling, or is a real page-turner, or that it kept me reading beyond my bedtime—none of those descriptions can possibly touch the power of this story. Just let me say—hold onto your Bibles, and put your favorite theologian on speed-dial.
Mr. Peters has come up with an adventure so real that it is hard to see the line between reality and fiction. Indeed, where that line is drawn surely depends on one’s faith, and what one is brought up to believe.
The elements of what is considered heresy and what is recorded history are so closely interwoven that it is absolutely impossible to tell where fiction begins and reality ends—and where they swap out. The author has researched his topic exhaustively, and it is a careful person who retains his or her faith throughout.
One thing I can tell you—Indiana Jones would have given a fortune to have gone along on this odyssey.
I can hardly wait for the next book in the series!!

The Brothers' Keepers A Nicholas Branson Novel eBook Matthew Peters Reviews

Nicholas Branson, a Jesuit and religious historian, is asked by his FBI friend to help identify an ancient parchment that was left on a murdered Senator's desk. And so begins his journey to uncover a Vatican secret that threatens to destroy the foundations of the church. Very interesting story, well developed characters and enough action to keep you interested. I enjoyed this book and look forward to the next book in the series.
This is a fascinating glimpse into the stories behind the stories both political and religious and the power that corrupts absolutely in both. Peters tells a well-woven tale paced to keep one enthralled.
A fantastic read. Matthew Peters has written a real page-turner that leaves you wanting nothing except more, more, more. I had a difficult time putting the book down, and the adventure the wonderfully written characters were on lingered in my mind for a long time. What struck me the most, however, was the research. Wow. Just wow.

Perfect for Dan Brown fans. Actually, it's perfect for anyone who likes a good story. And who doesn't?
I began reading this book knowing only what I had seen on the author's page on Facebook and from the book's reviews and I had high hopes. I was looking for something exciting that would hold my interest and be intelligently written. I was not disappointed! The primary characters are likeable and smart and made me care about them right away.
The plot is based on a question that has interested me since I was in high school what part did Jesus' brothers play in Jesus' life, death and resurrection? Did Jesus really die on the cross? Who was the true head of the Christian church? The Bible tells us almost nothing.
This book is well-researched, thought-provoking, fast-paced and of superior quality. I highly recommend it and can hardly wait to get started on the next Nicholas Branson novel.
Matthew Peters manages to to meld well researched facts with unbridled imagination to produce a compelling storyline. Although sometimes the 'clues' seemed to fall into the hands of the hero a little too easily, it was mitigated by the fascinating revelations that accompanied each find. This was a thoroughly enjoyable read and I look forward to the next adventure of Nicholas Brandon.
That's what you will be doing when you begin reading this book. This adventure is at a great pace and will hold you in its grip. This author knows how to turn you into a real page Turner. This is a great read and should have been made into a movie, but then there would be commercials so read the book. Good story, good writer, great adventure, what more could you want. The next book thats what.
A 'maverick' Jesuit would-be priest; the woman he once loved & left; his best friend - an FBI agent; a mysterious and powerful benefactor; and a clever female sidekick take on a web of secrets and corruption at the highest levels (including the U. S. Capitol and the Vatican) in The Brothers' Keepers, by Matthew Peters. The stakes are impossibly high, the consequences deadly. It's a riveting thrill-ride, full of action and breath-taking suspense, with well-developed, relatable main characters that you'll love, and villains you'll love to hate. The story flows effortlessly across continents, with agonizing twists and turns along the way. The research is impeccable, and the premise is plausible - two elements that are critical to a successful religious-political thriller. The ending leaves just enough threads hanging to tease you with the promise of a sequel, but not so many that you won't feel completely satisfied with the story's conclusion. If you love the excitement of Indiana Jones, and the literary depth of Dan Brown's Robert Langdon, this outstanding novel should bump up to the top of your list - today.
